The Moonwalk Edinburgh
The MoonWalk Edinburgh will be returning to The Meadows for the 3rd time on June 14th 2008. When Walk the Walk first launched the challenge in 2006 their goal was bring a wonderful fundraising idea to Scotland in the hope that it could make a significant difference to the lives of many with breast cancer. At that time they had no idea how popular their Power Walk would become or what amazing fundraising it would achieve, in just 2 years The MoonWalk Edinburgh has raised in excess of £4 million pounds!
The majority of the funds stay in Scotland and already significant grants have been allocated to some key projects. Walk the Walk are supporting Maggie's in not only building a second Maggie's centre in Glasgow, but also launching a pilot scheme to get virtual help and advice to people coping with cancer in the highlands and islands. Exciting plans are also yet to be released regarding changes to the breast care unit at The Weston Hospital in Edinburgh.
Without the united help of all our supporters and Edinburgh Council none of this would be possible.
